Brothers, pray for us.
Even God’s generals need the intercession of fellow brethren! Think of Paul the Apostle asking the disciples he walked with, children he nurtured, to pray for him and his company! This is humility and a recognition that prayer is the blessed link to God’s omnipotence. We all need each other. Those called to be in the ‘fore-front’ in advancing the gospel recognize that they do not advance as solitary individuals but as a team together with those who in ‘obscurity’ kneel down in the secret of their prayer chambers to plead with God for the fruitfulness of the gospel among the nations.
Remember the incident where the Amalekites attacked the Israelites in Exodus 17:8-16. Moses instructed Joshua to choose men to accompany him as he went to wage war with their enemies, while he (Moses) stood before the LORD with the staff in his hand. The Bible records that;Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.
This is the strategy in the army of God – Battles are won as we rely on the Lord. For the battle belongs to Him. And what is the best show of our reliance on the Lord other than prayer? Let me say again that generals don’t fight alone. They depend on every soldier in the battalion. Therefore, this is a solemn call. We pray that we will be of a great blessing to the students we minister to. We pray that our families will triumph in setting an example when many families are falling apart. We pray that we will not be slack to take the gospel where the Lord sends us. We pray that we will run the race marked before us with success. May the Lord, through us, bring many into this Kingdom of Light. We pray that we will be of great encouragement among the believers, spurring many on to pray for revival.
However, we recognize this factRemember the incident where the Amalekites attacked the Israelites in Exodus 17:8-16. Moses instructed Joshua to choose men to accompany him as he went to wage war with their enemies, while he (Moses) stood before the LORD with the staff in his hand. The Bible records that; Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.
Therefore, for this reason, we totally rely on God to have His blessings visit the work we do. We dare not neglect prayer and in this regard we call you to pray for us.
Brothers, pray for us.
