Trinity Fellowship was birthed in Maseno in 1963 through the ministry of Reverend Cuthbert and Mrs. Mathilde Dawkins. A revival broke out due to the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit, through the ministry of the Dawkins, which initially impacted the Maseno community in Western Kenya, particularly Siriba Teachers’ College where Revd. C.H. Dawkins was Chaplain-Tutor from 1956 to 1965. This coincided with the construction of a small college chapel he was building on the edge of the campus, called the Chapel of the Trinity – for God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It was not until later that we in the Trinity Fellowship realized that we were part of a worldwide move of God in which many mainline churches were experiencing Pentecost afresh. This move came to be called the Charismatic Renewal.
Godfrey Dawkins and Elijah Akhahenda responded to teachers’ invitations to minister in their schools in 1963. Gradually they built up teams of ministers. Thus the evangelistic arm of Trinity Fellowship came into being. On Godfrey’s return from overseas, with his new wife Elisabeth, the evangelistic ministry boomed.
On the retirement of the Dawkins seniors in 1965, Reverend Godfrey and Elisabeth Dawkins took up the reins, nurturing and launching many promising young Kenyan ministers into the schools ministry.
Gradually the teaching graduates from Siriba, on fire for God, fanned out into schools far and wide, inviting teams from Maseno for weekend ministry at their schools, for what became known as Weekend Challenges. These revived teachers began to return to the Chapel of the Trinity at Siriba three times a year for what became known as Trinity Fellowship Conventions, where they were blessed by many outstanding visiting preachers both from Kenya and from Overseas.
The Trinity Fellowship was registered in 1963 and incorporated by the Kenyan Government in 1966.
The three main thrusts of the Trinity Fellowship – of Evangelism, Discipleship and Mercy Ministries grew from these roots. Thriving Evangelism and Discipleship Training Centres and preaching teams were formed, not just in Maseno, but also in Kisumu, Kakamega and beyond.
Millard Parrish, who originally came to Kenya to lead the World Action Singers at the Oral Roberts Crusade in the late 60s, heard the Lord’s call to disciple student teachers at Kenyatta University. The teachers would then be well equipped to disciple students in the schools to which they would then be placed, and thus the discipling ministry would multiply. Millard returned to Kenya with his wife Shirley, and thus the Kenyatta University (KU) teacher disciple-making ministry of the Trinity Fellowship began in the late 70s. Many more teams would later grow out of the Fellowship, some of them as Affiliated Ministry Groups, bringing salvation, healing and deliverance to towns and villages in various parts of the country. In later years, the ministry branched out of Nairobi to Nakuru (Gilgil in the Rift Valley) Embu (in Eastern Kenya), and Eldoret (North Rift Valley), some of the teams becoming affiliate ministries of the Trinity Fellowship. Much more recently the ministries of Trinity Fellowship have branched out to Murang’a in Central Kenya and Kericho in the South Rift Valley region.
Through Trinity Fellowship staff and Affiliated Groups of the Fellowship, the sound of the gospel has gone out to other nations in Africa including: Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, The Democratic Republic of Congo Mozambique, Malawi, Sierra Leon and South Africa. To God be the glory!

Our Ministries
The ministries of Trinity Fellowship fall into three broad categories – Evangelism, Discipleship and Mercy Ministries:
EVANGELISM
For nine months within the year, we proclaim the Good News of the saving grace of Christ especially among Primary school pupils, High school students and University students in hundreds of boarding and day schools and college campuses around the country. Through the preaching of the Gospel, we seek to lead the hearers to faith in Jesus Christ.
DISCIPLESHIP
In the holiday months of April, August and December, we organize discipleship training and revival camps for the youth. Hundreds of students come together to worship, pray, study God’s Word and listen to outstanding speakers on a variety of pertinent topics that will empower the students to live out their new-found faith victoriously.
University students gather in small group forums for fellowship and growth in their faith, learning how best to, read, study, meditate on and apply God’s Word in their lives and to hear from Him. These forums include exciting physical workouts in pursuit of spiritual fitness and other opportunities to develop life skills.
